Biography of Joan Walsh

Joan Walsh has been consulting with ESC since 2009. She joined ESC with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her expertise in the areas of Change Management, Project Management, Organizational Development and Executive Development has measurably impacted business results.  Her projects with ESC have included Strategic Planning, Emergency Leadership Planning, Leadership Transition Management, and Performance Management process and implementation. Some of Joan’s ESC clients include Chicago Commons, Cambodian Association of Illinois, the Emergency Fund, Respond Now, The Chicago Network, and St. Augustine College.

 

Until late 2008, she was Director of Senior Manager Development at Citigroup, where she was responsible for the design, development, and delivery of an annual Business Franchise Forum attended by 2,800 senior managers in 11 cities around the world. In this capacity, she worked with the CEO, Management Committee, and Corporate Communications. She also designed and delivered a mergers and acquisition integration program conducted for newly acquired businesses in the UK and Japan. Prior to that role, Joan was Director of the Learning and Development function for Salomon Smith Barney. Her responsibilities included marketing and delivering a Leadership Development curriculum, talent development and succession planning initiatives, product training and consultative selling programs.  

 

Joan majored in English at DePaul University and has certification in Organizational Development studies from New York University. Joan has completed ESC training in Consulting, Project Management, Strategic Planning, Tech Tools, Volunteer Management, and Leadership Transition Management, a course she facilitates for her peers. She has served as a board member of Executive Service Corps and member of the Board of Trustees for The Community House in Hinsdale.
