Biography of James Zils

 

Jim has over 35 years of experience in the insurance sector, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer for Combined Insurance Company. Beyond his insurance expertise, he has knowledge in finance, coaching, mergers and consolidations, treasury, governance and strategic planning.

Jim's client work has included engagements with the Village of Streamwood and Hanover Township, and he is involved with Allstate Insurance Company through ESC’s Corporate Citizenship Connection (C3) Program. C3 enhances the effectiveness of corporate executives who serve on nonprofit boards, providing genuine value to the company and its executives, the nonprofits they care about, and the communities they serve. Jim has completed ESC training in Consulting, Board Development, Urgent Action Team, Project Tech Tools, and Facilitating Small Workgroups.

Active in the community, Jim serves on the board of Mosaic, leading the audit and finance committees, and on the governing and development councils for Advocate Condell Hospital. He has previously volunteered for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
