Dr. Edward Solan brings decades of executive leadership in affordable housing finance and nonprofit management. He served as CEO of Oak Park Residence Corporation, overseeing all operations, and as COO of the Illinois Housing Development Authority, directing $2 billion in real estate programs and a staff of 170. Earlier, he was Executive Vice President of the New York City Housing Development Corporation.

A dedicated civic leader, Ed has chaired and served on numerous boards, including the United Way of Oak Park, River Forest & Forest Park, the Oak Park Housing Authority, and the Pleasant Home Foundation. He currently serves on the Board of ESC and the Advocacy Committee of Arbor West Neighbors. In addition, he is a licensed real estate Managing Broker and Condominium Manager, and President of his condominium association.

Ed holds a BA from Fordham University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. from Indiana University. At ESC, he has served as Engagement Manager, Consultant, Executive Coach, and Board Member. Clients consistently praise his expertise, with one noting, “Ed is fantastic.
