Dr. David A. Sanders, President of Malcolm X College and its School of Health Sciences, oversees a $64M budget, 12,000 students, and nearly 1,000 employees, driving strategic, enrollment, and equity initiatives for 26 accredited health science programs. Since his appointment in 2015, he has led the college to national recognition, record retention rates, and state-leading enrollment growth, while securing over $21M annually in grants. 
 

Formerly Deputy COO of City Colleges of Chicago, Sanders managed the on-time, on-budget construction of the $251M Malcolm X College campus and the $45M Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Center. Under his leadership, the School of Nursing achieved among the highest pass rates in Illinois, and the college earned accolades as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges. Holding degrees in Finance and Educational Leadership, and a doctoral candidate at Concordia University Chicago, Sanders is also an Auxiliary Bishop, recognized for his faith, humility, and service to his community.
