
Blanca Acevedo
Director
Blanca Acevedo is the Director of Grants Administration at Malcolm X College, where she manages the U.S. Department of Education Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) STEM grant. She previously oversaw 21st Century Community Learning Center and TRIO grants in non-profits, K-12, and higher education, and was named a 2023 USDA E. Kika de la Garza Fellow.
A frequent presenter on STEM maker education, Blanca has served in leadership roles with Fiesta del Sol, Gamaliel of Metro Chicago, and the Illinois TRIO Association. She is co-author of Today’s Inspired Young Latina Volume 4 and, as a first-generation daughter of immigrants, is dedicated to serving underrepresented communities. She holds both a Master’s in Higher Education Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Psychology & Latin American Studies from Northeastern Illinois University.
