Biography of Diane Scruggs
Diane Scruggs is the former Executive Director of Healthy Families Chicago. She has over 35 years’ experience in the field of child and family services. Her work experience includes foster care, adoption, international adoption, residential treatment, and special education, Respite, Counseling/Therapy, in home day care, center-based day care, home visiting programs and advocacy programs. She has worked for a number of non-profit organizations across Chicago.
Ms. Scruggs is a member of several committees of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. She currently serves as Chairperson of SCAN (Statewide Advisory Committee on Abuse, Chairperson for the Illinois n and Neglect), Chairperson for the Illinois advisory committee for CERAP (Child Endangerment Risk Assessment Protocol) and a former member of the Illinois Child Death Review Team in Cook County. Ms. Scruggs is a federal grant reviewer for DHHS and OHS. Ms. Scruggs is a past recipient of the Friends of Children award presented by Prevent Child Abuse Illinois. Ms. Scruggs is a consultant for a private foundation for the performing arts.
Ms. Scruggs has a MSW from the University of Illinois and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Roosevelt University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers of NASW.
